YES this movie is a remake, but it is also very good and funny movie rather or not you want to admit it or try to sound like some world famous critic, in the references they do say that this is based on the screen play of Cactus Flower so everyone shut up

shareFor what it's worth, Adam Sandler's production company, "Happy Madison" gave Goldie Hawn's real life son, Oliver Hudson, his first big-time acting role. He plays "Adam" on "Rules of Engagement."

Funny, I hadn't connected this movie with "Cactus Flower" at all until the closing credits. I think rather than a "remake," it was more "inspired by" CF. The only real similarity was the broad premise of an older doctor (I think Walter Matthau played a dentist) trying to woo a much younger woman while pretending to be married (to the marvelous Ingrid Bergman). It's been years since I've seen it, but I don't remember anything about them having "kids" or taking the entire family out of town on vacation. Guess I need to see "Cactus Flower" again!
