OK, I looked but didn't see any threads on this specific topic...

...under what circumstances would a young sexy educated hottie like Palmer have sex with an ugly old boat like Sandler's character less than 8 hours after they met?

I understand that some women are attracted to money and a sense of humor (both of which his character certainly had), but come on, less than 8 hours?

I know it's a movie, but of all the supposed plotholes or inconsistencies or "reasons to suspend belief", Sandler and Decker in the sack less than 8 hours after they met had to be #1 with a bullet on that list. No way that happens.

Yeah to be honest I found this kind of hard to swallow too. But people are attracted to different things, maybe she found him attractive. If we all found the same people handsome/pretty there'd be a heck of a lot of lonely people out there.

ps LOL @ 'ugly old boat' never heard that one before :)

Look at this, it's a nighty. She would look sexy in that, you'd look like a moose!

'ugly old boat'

I take it the OP's finger slipped off the 'g' key and hit the 'b' key by accident?

Oh of course! That makes sense. But I'm sticking with 'ugly old boat' - love it!

Some people like casual sex 8 hours after they meet someone. It's probably more common than you think lol.

I think they were both impulsive for sure, though. Getting engaged/planning a wedding literally just a few days (maybe one week) after they meet? They didn't go through with it--true--but obviously Danny and Palmer didn't operate by the average relationship timetables.

Money talks, BS walks. Remember the intro Sandler's character got before he started talking to Palmer? She already knew that he was not only a doctor, but a successful one. Like one of my female friends once told me, a lot of money can make an ugly guy pretty easy on the eyes. Plus he wasn't the spazzy nerdy dude he had been at the beginning of the movie. He'd worked on his looks, and he had some good conversation skills. You'd be surprised how many older dudes with game and swagger are dating and marrying girls almost half their age. Just ask Patrick Stewart (and boy did he pick a stunner).
