Never read the book

But the chauvinistic aspect of the dorky girl in love with the cool kid is beyond played out.
Even after he flat out tells her he's just into girls, not her, she accepts him and even worse, it still takes him gettin dumped by a cheating wife before he then marries the girl who had stupidly IMHO still been devoted to him after he has been treating her like garbage for most of her adult life and then they steal the most emotional scene EVER from a Meg Ryan movie and used the "tragic love interest is killed by a bus but we are going to make it even more dramatic than you would expect" tactic?!
Awful. Continuing the theme of Chronicle and Knowing with movies that start off good and think a dramatic ending = witty.
No one expects every movie to end with sunshine and roses. But be creative without being stupid and/or repetitive.

The book was better. Went into much more detail of the complexity of Dexter's feelings for Emma, and hers for him.
