Did anyone notice...

After Sylvie drops Jasmine off at Dexter's house, then goes back to the car with her new family, you hear a voice (her husband?) saying something like "Come on Moriarty" (it may not be that exactly, but definitely "Moriarty").

So Sylvie named her next child Moriarty, after the parlour game - pretty funny. I don't remember that detail in the book.

BTW I read the book last year and was prepared to be disappointed by the film, but I loved it. (Although Anne Hathaway's accent was a bit of a distraction at first, it's true - she didn't have it for the first scenes in Edinburgh, and then suddenly when she moves to London she sounds like someone out of Coronation Street! Then it kept appearing, disappearing and moving between London, Yorkshire, Manchester and America.)

The ageing make-up was done well too, I thought, especially on Jim Sturgess. (Though I hope I don't age quite as much in 5 years as he did from 2006 to 2011!)

I loved the movie, too. I didn't notice anyone else in the car, though when Sylvie dropped Jasmine off with Dex. I thought Callum, Dex's old boss that she was cheating on Dex with and apparently went on to marry, I thought Callum was talking to Sylvie as she was getting in the car, teasing her, since they were going off to see her folks, and obviously going to play another rousing round of Are You There Moriarty?

I loved it as well. I did hear it as well, and it sounded like he was talking to her. It almost seemed to be a reference to her as an emotional punching bag. I may be over thinking that one..

I think he was just syaing it. I don't think they had a kid.

I'm superstitious. Before I start a new movie, I kill a hobo with a hammer-Gwyneth Paltrow

Callum subdued himself to that silly in-law game. Dex couldn't and didn't.

I think it was her husband saying "come on moriaty" to Sylvie.... in other words at some time Sylvie told her husband about the story of what Dexter did during the game of "are you there moriaty"... the way I heard it it was a kind of whispered private joke with Sylvie at Dexter's expense "just to remind her of that loser she used to be with who was really so stupid".
