Forget Hathaway's accent, what about...
...Sturgess' terrible accent? It's as if he was trying to actually be an early Ewan McGregor.
Awful, just awful.
PS - Hathaway's accents were good, just wished she stuck with one lol.

It wasn't just his accent that was crap, his acting was equally dreadful. I loved the book and blame him partly for this film being moderately crap. He had moments of bringing Dexter to life but he wasn't consistent and couldn't carry the film.
shareSo glad you said this. His "posh boy" accent was appalling. He was more believable when he was doing his fake "geezer" accent for the TV show.
Actually, thinking about it, he's just not that good an actor. Seen him in 21, The Other Boleyn Girl, The Way Back, 50 Dead Men Walking, Cloud Atlas and this and none of his performances are that good.
I agree, at times she sounded British but then I'd hear bits of and Irish accent. Her British accent wasn't consistent, she changed dialects often.
