I cried when Dex ex wife found in on the floor and the scene where he takes his daughter up the hill where Emma and him had gone.
When Emma got hit, which really shocked and moved me. It also reminded me of a close friend who went to see it and because my friend has had a terrible year(her husband leaving her, house move falling through, her baby daughter having a hip operation and a colleague being diagnosed with cancer) that scene was a painful reminder for her. I also came very close to crying when Dexter went to visit his dying mother.
"Life after death is as improbable as sex after marriage"- Madeline Kahn(CLUE, 1985)
When Emma and Dex is at te hill and Emma said, who needs tomorrow when we have today :( summarizes the whole film. So sad :(

The final flashback to the first day they met, just before they run into Dex's parents.
To see that they loved each other from day one made me break down. It really resonated with me.

-'Stone Cold Steve Austin...'
Probably the last scene with Dex's parents interrupting them. I agree with MCAN. I think this film is really underrated as a love story. Its nice to see a move finally that has genuine emotion and vulnerable characters. They don't really leave you when the movie is over. I saw it a third time and the climax at the end still makes me really cry. Anne Hathaway really was Emma. Jim was just amazing. I think people need to see movies like this to appreciate their lives more. The parts at the end where Em says "Goodbye Dex" was so innocent. You can tell with the look on Dex's face that she means so much to him. Sorry I'm an emotional person, I love movies like this.

Same here....scene absolutely guts me and I'm usually a cynic
shareWhen Dexter and his father share a moment together just after Emma has passed and he puts himself in his shoes and can finally relate to him. That part really hits me.
shareI loved this movie so much that after I saw it, I had to buy/read the book also. The part with his dad I found even more moving in the book... Just heartbreaking
shareI didn't think it would make me get teary eyed, but I did tear up a bit when Dexter was chatting with her ex- the comedian-whatever his name is-after her death. When he says he'd always be grateful to Dexter for making her happy.
shareI cried when it was over, because I realized I wasted almost 2 hours on a boring movie with characters with no chemistry that I didn't care about in the least. Horrible movie. Why are romantic movies so hard to make these days?
