The point of the movie

For me the whole purpose of this movie was to say that people need to wake up, and see what they have, because there are no guarantees. Dexter was so caught up in being lost there were years he could have had with Emma that never happened. At the end when it shows the first day of them hanging out, it's almost like he's imagining what would have happened if they would have started their relationship right then, and not waited. Everyone has 20/20 vision in hindsight right? That's why it's so important to go for what you want. By the time you finally wisen up all that time has gone by.

I think you make a point, but for me the main take away from the movie is that love is worth it. At the very end, when we see them young again at the end of that first day they spent together, we know what they are in for, and that their love will break both their hearts in different ways at different times, and it doesn't last, but it was worth it. Like Ian said, "she made you decent, and in return you made her so happy." Love may break your heart and it may not last, but it's worth it anyway.

She didn't care for her life anymore. So she didn't care in the traffic. She had too high expectations from life. That's what it's about.
