To be honest, the aunt, the buddy he went car shopping with, Misty, and her boyfriend all seem to be involved. Zebb got a page or call from the aunt who denies contacting him & we find out she was going into business with Misty's boyfriend. She conveniently moved out of town shortly after the disappearance. Misty's boyfriend was angry over Zebb's flirtatious relationship with Misty. Misty looked like the sketch of the one driving Zebb's car. Car-shopping buddy claims Zebb rear ended him but there's no evidence that either vehicle was damaged. Also, after-dark was an odd time for car shopping. There is so much evidence that leads in so many different directions, and a lot of it makes little sense. I hope that one of them confesses to a friend or spouse who goes on to be an ex-friend or ex-spouse. Otherwise, it's hard to imagine this case will ever be solved.
I wonder what happened to Zebb's car after it was found? Surely the police took prints and trace evidence, but who knows. The puppy is a weird clue. The car would have been easily discovered without using a living creature to draw attention to it, so why was it in there. The whole case is confounding.
