I'm Sorry But I Don't Buy it For a Second

So we are expected to believe a girl who graduated high school at 16 goes on to become an escort. She goes to her client and screams and calls 911 and is on the phone for 20min telling them they want to kill her. The police don't come. She runs off. Runs into a man and begs him for help. As soon as he calls the police, she bolts. Her driver tells him he shouldn't have done that because now she'll be in bigger trouble.

Years pass. A dozen bodies are found. Mostly all escorts. In a small area. In a small community. None of them are hers. Then they find hers, and tell the family she died of "accidents" and "ran out of her jeans" that ended up in a tree, and fell asleep and died in a swamp.

I don't buy it for a second.

Anyone else think she may have been invovled, like sent undercover to get intel or that the cops were envolved somehow? It just was too weird. Like sickeningly weird to me. That whole episode felt like a joke. And to freaking tell her parents, "She ran out of her jeans and fell asleep in the swamp and died" is royally screwed up.

I just researched the case.

The man who's house she went to reportedly gave her medication and sent her into the SUV with her driver and didn't call the cops.

THAT WAS NEVER MENTIONED ON THIS EPISODE.

Something really fishy is going on...

well well, they sure were wrong(climbed out of her pants in the brambles and drowned)

good for her family getting this done hope the case moves forward/gets solved

Well it says maybe strangled. Not sure they will ever have enough evidence to say 100% what happened. I feel like the family and friends in many of these cases want someone to blame and it's harder to accept it could have just been the persons own doing (or due to their fragile mental state). I'm not saying they are wrong, but this case reminds me of Toni Lee Sharpless (both women were bi-polar I believe) and she was at a party with her friend and started screaming and throwing things and acting irrational same as Shannon.

Then there was also that boy from New York (forgot name) who suffered from a mental disorder and wandered out of the school and was eventually found dead somewhere. Does anyone remember his name? A lot of these cases where people are suffering from a mental problem seem to end sadly.

I'm confused by the OP who said the man at the house she went to gave her medication - what medication was that? Who gives someone banging on their door medication when they don't know what they already have going on in their system.

I remember that story about Toni...........

the boy you are talking about ....I believe his name was Avonte Oquendo

My OP was pretty jumpy and I apologize for that. I made that post after seeing the episode and I was all shaken up. To this day, this episode still haunts me. Basically, this was a woman who was so intelligent and graduated from high school very early. She was very smart, but went on to be an escort. Which, I mean - you do you, but it didn't add up well to me. And then she goes to a client and while there she calls the cops and screams to them on the phone. They played the audio clip and it gave me chills. But no police came? And then she just left...and ran off and tried to get help but no one would help her and then her body was found in a swamp where all these other escorts bodies were dumped. And she was naked and the cops were like "oh she was just another escort" and "oh she just ran out of her jeans." None of it added up. And I think to this day the cops were involved because of how dismissive they were. I think she was sent undercover to work with them, and that she wasn't really an escort. I think she was an informant and something went wrong and they knew what went wrong but didn't want to be held responsible. So they brushed her off as being another dead escort. But literally none of the facts of the case added up to me at all. No one can "run out of their jeans." And why didn't the cops come help her when she was on the phone with 911 for like 30min screaming for help? I don't know if they were directly responsible, but I do think there's something fishy going on with this case and it makes me really sad because I feel like because of that, this woman and her family will never know peace or justice.

I watched this episode a few years ago I believe. And it still crosses my mind and gives me chills.

What do you all think? What are your speculations? I want to hear about your thoughts

turned out Shannon Gilbert was strangled....she could have been under cover...such a weird story that lead to finding all those other bodies

I definitely buy it. This girl did not disappear nor was she found in the same circumstances as the other women. I mean, get real. You think a serial killer would let her call 911 for 20 minutes and ask strangers for help and then show his own face as well? This is clearly a case of a young woman who had a psychotic episode or something, probably drug induced, and ran into the swamp where she perished. The fact that her sister is schizophrenic and stabbed their mother to death should tell you enough.

And who are you quoting when you say she "ran out of her jeans"? I doubt it's the police.
