What happened to the show??

I was so thrilled to see that there was a new season starting of one of my favorite shows. Then I watch the first episode of the new season and I couldn't believe it was even the same show. The whole format of the show is different. Every time I try to watch new episodes now I find myself becoming distracting and doing other things. I hate when a great show changes when it's already popular. Like the phrase "don't fix what ain't broke."

I agree Danielle - I find myself doing other things as well isn't that awful. With the old format I was glued and couldn't wait to hear and see more. Not sure who made the poor decision to stop making episodes and to also bring it back in a different, and not engrossing way.

reply

Yes, exactly! It's very disappointing.

reply

Me too. It's boring and I too resort to doing other things such as surfing the internet, leafing through a magazine, checking up on e-mail. Can't pinpoint why, but it's not as compelling as the older episodes.

I think bringing back the mysterious sounding narrator and the creepy music and sound effects would help a lot.

reply

I agree. I'm so disappointed that they felt the need to make such drastic changes. The original format was perfectly fine.

I say bless your heart a lot. It's a Southern thing 

I find myself having the same issue, this new format is not as engaging so even though I want to watch it I get easily distracted. I liked how in the old ones they would fade to black and show the date and time so that you really got a feeling of the timeline of events.

I'm having the same issue. I feel so bad, because it's such a serious thing, these families wanting information about their loved ones. Yet I find myself bored! I'm not drawn in like I was with the old narrator, timeline, music, etc. Even the interviews seemed better back then. I literally had to rewind the last one twice because I looked away for a few minutes and forgot I was watching it! Then I gave up and shut it off. Again, that makes me feel like an ass because these people are hoping for answers.

I agree!! I'm not sure what it is ...but its boring. I dont mind the new narrator...preferred the last guy...but I think its the family interviews for me. They have no substance. There arent any specifics (when you feel there is more) to a story. Or...they just dont interview the right people (or mention if they attempted to talk to them). Like girlfriends after a breakup..the last people to have interacted with the person (roomates, wreckers, etc). Or they throw out seemingly implausible theories in an attempt to deepen the story. The last seasons seemed to have more credibility....and...if they really want to help they should show more videos of the real people (there has to be video) and clearer pictures of these people- and more of them.

Ok just watched Brandi Hannah/Love triangle.
The narrators pacing is sooo slooooooowww. And he puts emphasis on the wrong words randomly.
And, I only saw 2-3 photos of Hannah....and two of them werent in focus. Is that just all they have to use or what? drives me bananas!

They should call the show Disappeared II: In search of ghosts and other evils

I mean this as play off really bad movie sequels where the only goal is rip off the original. None of the original people come back because the producers have no intent on making anything good.
