This is a good example of how bad the series as become. About 3/4 through the show starts to focus on how his sister has psychic powers that keep repeating over and over in her head. The show follows how one psychic lead that turns into another psychic lead, then yet again turns into another. The show is suggesting that its all leading to some big discovery, but nothing happens. It was all in her head. Its just a dead end, nothing new is learned\discovered. What is the point of following clues that don't even exist?
What's next, Disappeared: UFO Abductions? Surely it must be the work of aliens because no trace evidence can be found. Only Aliens can do things like that ;)
The most important part of the show is to bring attention to missing people.
There were not many physical clues in this case so there wasn't much to follow, some people truly believe in psychics and think they have answers even if it leads to nothing.
A lot of you people whine and complain but forget the main reason for this show is to bring awareness to missing people, you want a more entertaining show? Go watch Criminal Minds where everything is solved by the end of the episode.
Previous 6 seasons avoided using fictitious evidence; it causes the show to loose credibility when it strays into supernatural realm of people's imagination, which is why I joked about it being a potential UFO kidnapping. I have no complaints about seasons 1-6.
It did for me. I liked the first 6 seasons because the show historically has stayed grounded on what was factually known\discovered, or speculation based on that. If what she contributed had led to some discovery it would have added more mystery to his disappearance. Those interviews segments should have been left on the cutting room floor.

Earlier seasons have shown many times how clues in disappearances have gone nowhere. So I don't feel that this new season has gone downhill. People are just upset with the new format and narrator.
During investigations there will be plenty of leads that result in nothing being found. In previous seasons those dead ends were based on something tangible\real, not something out of the imagination of someone's head.
You're correct, they avoided using the term "Psychic". And I have no problem with the family pursuing their gut feelings when they have nothing else. I just think the producers should have left that content out of the show, or framed it differently.

it was so odd finding that picture in her chart at the chiropractor...I wanted to know what they had to say about the picture but that didn't happen....it was so odd I can see where she thought it could be a sign...that's what I took from it..not that she was a psychic.
one more point...these bricks are very unusual....can't find a picture of them (or good close up of just one) I did a bunch of google searches, not of the articles include a picture of the bricks
My theory on the picture being in her file was she had probably printed the photo out at home and it was grabbed up with some other papers she dropped off at her Chiropractors office. All of the papers were then just put in her folder and later she sees it and takes it as a sign. That was my first thought on how it happened although I can see taking it as a sign and I didn't feel like the show was wrong for adding something that she had checked up on even if it was based on something that more than likely was a simple mistake.
If the show had that much filler time in the hour to add a crappy psychic bit, they could've made it a half hour.
I wonder if they did check town permits, building supply stores, truck rentals, Google that unique brick or question past arrests on meth dealers and local jails on the case.
That would be more solid evidence to go on versus some loopy word going on and on in someone's head.
Police sometimes use psychics if they have no other leads, just as a sort of grasping at straws in hopes that something had panned out from there. It doesn't discredit the show for me, considering that this happens in real life a lot of the times.
