Britnee

I've only seen the first few episodes of this show, but this episode truly gave me chills. I tried to research if she was ever found, and it appears not. I don't know why, but I felt physically ill watching that episode. I've never felt that away about any other episode or show similar to this. I just felt my heart go to the pit of my stomach and couldn't sleep all night and I have no idea why.

Does anyone know if there's been any updates on her?

reply

No information on her here but I have internalized some of these missing person cases I've seen on tv and it's caused me to become ill and creeped out as well. I thought I was weird, glad I'm not alone. :/

reply

I'm glad to know I'm not alone either. I mean, when I was a kid stuff would "freak me out" but I assumed I was just a kid and stuff was getting in my head. But seeing that particular episode really stuck with me. I can't get the picture of her bright smile out of my head. It just really has given me the heebie jeebies. I think the worst of it is the thought of a girl just vanishing.

I know this is "Disappeared" but there's always a chance and clues, etc. This was just too weird to me. She just vanished without a trace. No body. If gators got to the body, you'd think there would be remains (bones). But she is just gone. Nothing. No clues. And little possibilities of still being alive today. And the sunglasses were odd to me too.

I don't know...it just was very weird to me and her story really struck me. Not one I am going to forget anytime soon.

according to the site I just made a thread about, brittnee Drexel is still missing....thought they had a breakthrough in 2010 but it didn't pan out..

she is the 1st episode in season 2 on the list

reply

What got me was them finding her cell phone in the swamps. Shudder.

reply

Her Cell Phone and Purse has never been found... Her Phone last pinged in another County. (An hour away in Georgetown.)

reply

I live in Myrtle Beach. A memorial event is held for her every year. She is still very much remembered.

thanks for the update, made it clickable

reply

No problem and thnx. I really wish they would find out what happened to her and and another local girl named Heather Elvis. Both cases affected Myrtle Beach.

reply

Well with Heather Elvis we know the couple did it, only question is where did they dispose of the body? It's also sickening that the couple are out on bail and the poor Elvis family has had to deal with threats from the other side. Some people are really sick. It's horrible enough that your daughter is missing and probably dead and then you have to deal with heartless people like that.

I think with Britanee they have clues they haven't made public yet, but it seems more mysterious because they don't have any known suspects to go on?

The episode that really got to me was Morgan Harrington. I always felt sick after watching that episode. She seemed like she was invincible as many young people do, and she made a lot of mistakes that night which ended up costing her life. But it was also being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Glad that predator is behind bars for good. Such a beautiful girl, and it stated her death was very violent. In the Hannah Graham videos you can actually see him stalking his prey before striking. A monster if there ever was one.

reply

Yeah. There was a gag order during the Elvis case trials . I feel like there is a lot that wasn't released. They only had so much evidence or maybe protocol was broken. I dunno.. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Morgan Harrington. Hmm I'll have to look that up.

This story gave me chills as well, along with Maura Murray and Brianna Maitland. The photo of Brianna's car backed into that creepy abandoned barn is the stuff horror movies are made of. I think I remember these 3 cases more than any of the others.

reply

I agree those ones definitely have the creep factor happening. Maura I still believe is a staged disappearance, with Brianna I think she owed a huge drug debt even though her mother says we shouldn't go there, well you have to because it happens all the time, and I think she paid with her life by those two drug lords. I don't remember there being any other alternatives mentioned which would explain what happened.

@cdjunkee - the episode is called Heavy Metal Mystery. This is the same guy who murdered Hannah Graham.

reply

Thnx. :) It sounds kinda familiar. I'll have to look it up sometime.

I just read the FBI has stated she was abducted and held against her will until she was killed. Her body has not been found. There is a large reward for any information.

Are you familiar at all with McLellanville, cjjunkee-1? That is where her cell phone last pinged, where the press conference was held, and where authorities believe Britnee was held and killed. I've read that the population is only around 500. With a town that small, somebody saw her heard something. There is speculation that some guys called the Taylor brothers (local criminals) are behind her disappearance and perhaps held her at one of their houses for purposes of gang raping.

Anyway, I'm wondering if this is one of those towns were ratting on someone is even worse than murder?

It's all so horrible to even think about. At the press conference, law enforcement kept emphasizing that those who know something MUST STEP FOWARD OR ELSE, which makes me think that they are trying to squeeze some information out of somebody.

reply

I am not familiar with the area. The F.B.I. basically admitted to knowing she had been dead for awhile. There is a lot of info they didn't release. Which I think is smart. I think it's only a matter of time before someone rolls over and fesses up. As sad as it is to say I never put any stock into the theory of her being put into human trafficking. I feel bad for her family but at least they have some closure.

Btitnee's Mom moved down here to Myrtle Beach and helped at the local CUE group that helps look for missing people.
