Anyone else tired of Teddy?

I know I am. It feels like they need to ask his [Larry Murphy's] permission just to air another episode, because every single episode it's just like he's shoe horned in for no purpose whatsoever, and he's not even a funny or endearing character----just a stalker. He is around and gets way too much screen time for a non main character and I can't mute fast enough when he talks--and yet, there have been several good episodes without him like:
"Wag the hog"
"An indecent thanksgiving proposal"
"Wagstaff school news"
"Mutiny on the windbreaker"
"A river runs through Bob"

Why can't he get it that people don't want to hear his long winded stories that go nowhere and self pitying behavior? Does he not seem to realize that when he shakes people, that scares them?!
Also, he's not as nice and warm as he seems. Because, in the episode where he forced Linda to teach him how to dance i, he said it was because he wanted to find a partner and he loved kids, and wanted to father kids---Linda ended up wasting all of her time showing him how to dance, in time for his cousin's wedding, but then the day of the wedding---he just jumped in the bounce house all day without dancing a single dance, or even interacting with kids! He made those kids wait--this was a real missed opportunity in my opinon, he could have interacted with the kids on one side of the bounce house and him on the other and jumped with the kids, instead he jumped till he puked! The kids who wanted badly to bounce never got to, because of that. Thanks Teddy!

There are episodes he has no business being in, and yet he appears, he seems to not be good at his job, because he's a handyman who fixes appliances yet he just shouts

"The power of fries compels you! The power of fries compels you!" at a broken fry machine instead of using his tools to fix the damn thing!

Also an inconsistency of his is this, he has seen the chalkboard empty before, in the episode the unnatural and didn't even mind, he just ordered a cup of coffee, but then in the episode sexy dance healing, the chalkboard was empty and
he went full meltdown and started punching cars in the street! He's lucky he didn't get arrested for destruction of property!

END OF RANT

Teddy is an excellent character, a sweet man, and a good loyal friend to the Belchers.

The show needs a non-family member with which the Belchers could interact (or, sometimes, an attached observer of the story who could say the things that the audience might be thinking), and Teddy -- being a regular customer -- has a reason to always be there for that interaction.

Also Teddy (along with the manner in which the Belchers are shown to be a close-knit and loving family) helps add a lot of "Heart" to the show.

No, but in the hands of the wrong writer, Teddy is a character that can easily become terrible. When everything is right, he's great. He just needs to be carefully written.

reply

He's sweet and loyal ---to the Belchers as you mentioned---- But the just the Belchers! Everybody else? There are other people in the world, but Teddy just scares them off with his random outbursts! And even if you are loyal to a family and only a family, you still have to give them room.

As a poster, you need to admit to yourself that there are just some episodes that Teddy has no business being in, by means of etiquette. Like when the Belchers have company over and he's just hanging around---not considerate, and not something one does in real life. And if Bob is having personal issues with his father, Teddy needs to stay out of it! It is not his place, it is not his battle and just spare me the *beep* about Teddy's father being an abusive twit or alcoholic---Do you see Bob meddling in that? No, he doesn't because Bob knows how to stay out of it.
How do you explain his behavior in Bob and deliver? He forced Linda to teach him how to dance he said it was because he wanted to find a partner and he loved kids, and wanted to father kids---Linda ended up wasting all of her time showing him how to dance, in time for his cousin's wedding, but then the day of the wedding---he just jumped in the bounce house all day without dancing a single dance, or even interacting with kids! He made those kids wait--this was a real missed opportunity in my opinon, he could have interacted with the kids on one side of the bounce house and him on the other and jumped with the kids, instead he jumped till he puked! The kids who wanted badly to bounce never got to, because of that. Thanks Teddy!

How do you explain that? Hoe do you explain he saw the chalkboard blank in the unnatural and didn't really mind it, but in sexy dance healing he had a full meltdown where he may have ended up in jail or hurt somebody----punching random cars till the alarm blares counts as destruction of property that's a felony.

EXPLAIN THAT
