Who's more pathetic, Teddy or Bill Dauterive?

I think Bill is the more pathetic of the two but he also has a solid group of friends, and teddy only seems to have Bob at best.

Unlike Bill, though, we haven't really seen any of Teddy's home life. I had always wonder how they would do if they hung out together. Hey, that would make them BILL & TED!

Definitely Bill. But I think it's due to us knowing much more about his backstory than we do of Teddy's.

We know he's divorced (and still so attached to Loraine, even though she's a bad person.)

We know all of his romantic relationships have failed.

We know he is alone, and often suicidally depressed.

We know he peaked in high school.

We know he had been f_cked over by the Army, who have done medical experiments one him.

Overall, we know he has an empty life.

Teddy, on the other hand, still seems hopeful. He doesn't have nearly as much baggage as Bill.

Bill's ex-wife was named Lenore. Last Sunday, we got to see Teddy's ex as he kept trying to impress her with his boat. She cheated on Teddy with a guy in a seal costume.

Exactly! Now that we've seen Teddys creepy obsession with his ex-wife, and the whole boat restoration debacle (S7E02), I'd say its more of a tighter race than before.

I still think Bill is more pathetic, maybe because KOTH is less wholesome, and you more truly feel for Bill when he cries and stuff. Teddy may be just as depressed, but BB doesn't really show you the darker times as KOTH sometimes did.

when u think of garbage, think of akeem

Bill. Easily.

It's funny, but you can definitely see Jim Dauterive's influence on Bob's Burgers as characters like Teddy, Bob, Linda, and Gene are in many ways like more upbeat and cartoonish versions of KotH characters like Bill, Hank, Peggy, and Bobby. The shows also share a similar love of family and friends and are less outlandish and unrealistic than other animated family shows like Family Guy, current Simpsons, American Dad, etc.
