Still not liking Teddy, still thinking of him as a stalker
God, just get up and go bother somebody else once in awhile....
shareGod, just get up and go bother somebody else once in awhile....
shareHe's obviously lonely, that's why he's there so often. The Belchers also obviously think of him as family enough that Bob and Linda trust him to babysit the kids.
Annoying the world since 1960!
He also lets the Belcher kids stow their bikes in his garage and imagines that they're his kids' bikes.
shareI think they give Teddy enough redeeming qualities to not appear stalker-ish. He is employed and seems good at what he does as he has helped the family out with house work on several occasions. He also had somewhat of a life once, he appeared as an extra in the shark movie and was once married, he is just a guy that doesn't have many other people in his life so the Belchers' fill that void.
I also like that he created his own super glue, it shows that he has ingenuity.
So he lets the kids store their bikes in his garage. BIG DEAL!
He's self employed who barely does his job correctly either! Remember how he 'fixed' The Belcher's fry machine? Durr---He stood there shouting;
"The power of fries compels you!" over and over and over again.
Creating superglue. Yeah, and then leaving it in The Belcher's basement where Louise could easily have accessed it, making Bob getting stuck on the toilet 20% his fault. Maybe 20% is me being kind, but whatever. And don't get me started about how he left the therapy session to go help Bob because---if he didn't leave the glue in their basement at the first place, Louise would have had to find something else to rub all over the toilet seat like hair gel or something.
They don't give Teddy redeeming qualities, they give him screen time. You know the difference right?
All right, let's just break down all the reasons not in any particular order that I can think of to hate Teddy. He:
1. Attacked the matire'd of the shrimp and seafood restaurant after the guy honestly told him he did not know where Bob was, and had not seen him. What kind of person does that? The guy was telling the truth and afterwards, Teddy didn't even apologize to him.
2. Forced Linda to teach him how to dance he said it was because he wanted to find a partner and he loved kids, and wanted to father kids---Linda ended up wasting all of her time showing him how to dance, in time for his cousin's wedding, but then the day of the wedding---he just jumped in the bounce house all day without dancing a single dance, or even interacting with kids! He made those kids wait--this was a real missed opportunity in my opinon, he could have interacted with the kids on one side of the bounce house and him on the other and jumped with the kids, instead he jumped till he puked! The kids who wanted badly to bounce never got to, because of that. Thanks Teddy!
3. Refused to help clean up the restaurant that he had a hand in trashing during lobsterfest/bobsterfest. Neither did the rest of the town, but someone on here kept making a point of how Teddy always helps Bob clean up?
4. He’s lucky he didn’t get arrested on several occasions for assault and destruction of public property. He smashed and punched cars in the streets. The same can be said for Bob Belcher as well, in the episode Burger Boss.
5. He wouldn’t stay out of Bob’s personal business about his father. What the hell was Teddy even doing in that episode anyways?
6. Also an inconsistency of his is this, he has seen the chalkboard empty before, in the episode the unnatural and didn't even mind, he just ordered a cup of coffee, but then in the episode sexy dance healing, the chalkboard was empty and he went full meltdown and started punching cars in the street! He's lucky he didn't get arrested for destruction of property!
7. During the song, "Bad things are bad" he only sang his part about wanting Bob back, simply because he was hungry, he mentions he wants a big snack, pulls out a stick of gum and starts to cry. Meanwhile, where was he during the big showdown in the water under the wharf? Nowhere to be seen, in fact, he does not show up for the rest of the episode. Telling the audience, he was only in it for the food.
8. Hogged all the sweet potatoes/or were they mashed potatoes? From everybody at thanksgiving dinner when it turned out Bob was having side effects to his new prescription medication and Gayle kissed Mort.
9. When he isn’t telling people about his boring mundane stories, he’s starting arguments.
10. He and Bob Belcher both destroyed the counter at Bob’s restaurant; him with his new hammer and Bob with his new knife. The hammer beat out the knife, making Bob’s money a waste.
11. More of a personal observation really, than something that happened in an episode, but it seems like Teddy may be a bad influence on Bob!
12. Claims to really, really want kids, but when given the chance to be a father figure and jump endlessly with them in the bounce house, he blew it. He jumped in the bounce house himself for the entire wedding! Then he puked! Inside of it!
13. Again in bad things are bad. Replace the piece of gum with a cigarette, and his popularity would have dropped to rock bottom in mere minutes, trust me you bleeding heart.
14. He doesn’t really fix things at all; he just stood there at the fry machine yelling “The power of fries compels you!” Then that was it--he was hired to fix the fry machine, he should have gotten out his tools and fixed it.
15. Had an inaudible meltdown at the Belcher’s to a point where Mort had to calm him down and restrain him [Mort was also inaudible] when he knew fully well that the Belchers were on a road trip. Hell, he was the one who rigged up their food truck with the deep fryer that was touch sensitive. He did such a terrible job that the main gasket blew when Gene pressed a button, and they had to start over again. One could say it’s partially Teddy’s fault that the food truck exploded on touch sensitive impact, since it exploded once before they even got it on the road when Gene pressed one button.
16. He has done this twice:
He butted in while Bob was having company, once with an old friend of Bob's Warren Fitzgerald, and he had a fun time playing with the aloha plastic automaton pineapple, but in the episode the hauntening he was terrified and near meltdown mood when he saw a mechanical toy witch---making his phobias inconsistent. But still, when Bob was having company from someone he hadn't seen in years Teddy should have been polite and stayed home and out of the way...that's only polite, it's only etiquette. Just like in the episode The Cook, The Gayle and Her Lover, he hung outside the home/restaurant all night, crying that Bob wasn't paying attention to him. Meanwhile, after the guests had left, Bob invited Teddy over to eat the rest of the dinner and Teddy told him, no, he had plans and took off...Who the *beep* does that and can be so rude?
17. He's not as shy and socially awkward as made out to be, after all, he's the one who introduced Bob to Sandy Frye a known celebrity and former NFL Player. How did he meet him and become a close friend to him? He would have had to talk to him to do that, wouldn't he?
I think if Teddy labeled the super glue property, Louise wouldn't used it for the toilet. She isn't dumb (or evil).
sharePossible. Actually, we all know Louise is evil that's part of the fun. Why the hell did Teddy leave the glue in the Belcher's basement anyway?
shareBut she isn't that evil and it doesn't seem like she wanted to glue Bob (or anyone else) to the toilet. Anyhow, it' isn't a good idea to let the jar of glue in the basement.
shareSo, kodak, you have a problem with Teddy being pathetic but not one with Louise being evil?
Annoying the world since 1960!
Yes, I do, because Louise is almost like controlled chaos. She dialed it in a lot in Glued, where's my Bob, even mentioning that the prank on the toilet seat was meant for Gene instead.
Terrorizing people---she usually goes after the people who terrorized her first.
Teddy on the other hand, is older and he should know better---when The Belchers have company over---leave them alone. In his own way, he actually is evil. It's a certain vanity that he can throw temper tantrums when things don't go his way. He's a grown man. Evil isn't always in the form of bunny ears and snakes you know.
He should know people are not interested in his long winded stories about towels or something or other, and the way he insists Bob pay attention to him and only him is downright selfish. Bob is not his father and Teddy is not a child. How is it okay for him to beat up the shrimp restaurant's matrie'd when the matrie'd honestly told him that Bob Belcher had not been in the restaurant at all?
How do you explain his mood swings and other stuff, like how he's too timid to talk to people, but then he ends up having connections with local celebrities and other stuff?
Trust me, if you knew someone like this in real life, you would run in the other direction every time!
I know some "Teddies" and don't run from them. They're not at the level of a cartoon character, but they just need some love.
Annoying the world since 1960!
Louise is controlled chaos evil
Teddy is pathetic evil
Teddy isn't evil. Controlled evil is far worse, that is basically a comic book supervillain.
Annoying the world since 1960!
He is evil in his own way. Did you think blatant obvious villainy is just running around twirling your pencil-point moustache with your index finger or sitting in a chair in headquarters stroking your cat and other stereotypical--James Bond, Non-James Bond Villains?
No. True evil often comes in all forms from deadly, scary, to mildly enjoyable.
Come to think of it, sometimes the villain makes the film or the sitcom more watchable than the hero does.
Can you explain to me, why on the rare occasions where the Belchers do ask him to leave the restaurant, he doesn't? And it's not that he's scared or anything, he just wants to have his way. He---along with Bob destroyed the counter on the restaurant with a knife and a hammer. He felt no remorse, technically speaking, neither did Bob, but then again it is his counter, he seems to be in it for himself or he would have gone down to the bottom of the docks at the end of the wharfening episode, and his phobias are too inconsistant for words. He got scared by the mechanical toy witch, but he loved the mechanical toy pineapple.
Teddy is a bad influence on Bob, and Bob is fair too timid to call him out on it. I don't know which is worse actually, he is evil in the sense of acting like he lacks too much confidence and needs to be sheltered, only to later find out he has connections, and he is friends with local celebrities, raising the questions, just how did he meet them, or if you want to get technical on my ass there's always the seven deadly sins, and to qualify as an evil or a dark heart, you must be guilty of two or more.
The seven deadly sins are:
1. Pride
2. Anger
3. Gluttony
4. Lust
5. Sloth
6. Greed
7. Envy
he suffers two of the deadly seven sins---gluttony and anger. We have seen each and every one of his outbursts turn violent and gluttony! Don't get me started. He has none of the other sins. But he does have the sin of gluttony and he has it in spades.
But Louise would qualify: she's angry and envious, also prideful. If she were older than 9, she'd be the perfect Bond villain. She even told her mother that crime is good. Teddy, on the other hand, is more misguided.
