Movie ends with every protagonist save Father Rawlings (apparently) possessed, yet I recall one of the characters mentioning that Maria was (didn't disclose what led him or her to believe as much)"better". Are we to believe that she is afflicted by only a single entity now or that the sequel will center on a demon wrought Simon Quaterman, whose possession was just delayed until after the car wreck?

shareI thought they said that she was better. And they indicated previously they were going to state that to get her removed to the US. But they would not release her after the first exorcise. The Dr. didn't feel there was a sign of a possession just that she did extraordinary things in an excited state. She may have appeared better but remember the demons had started transferring. She was likely left with one. However, the demons will not manifest unless you make them show themselves remember?
