Did they even bother to learn how a B-17 operated in combat?

Everybody is abandoning their guns?

The engineer mans the top turret. The radio operator mans the radio room gun.

And what's with the B-17s losing one engine and going down??? Those planes could take a whole hell of a lot of damage before they went down.

I could take just one B-17 going down with damage after one engine. It can be explained that by pure chance, the damage to the engine took out control cables. However they show two or three B-17s going down after one engine is damaged. Cannot take that happening so often!
