At the ending,does he come back home or not?

Maybe he makes it.
Maybe he dies.

i just watched the movie and got the sense he makes it.
The sun/desert is another impossible obstacle for him and will be tough but in the end he makes it.

I didn't get the sense that he absolutely made it, but was going to give it a try in spite of the fact that if he got caught again the consequences would be dire, like the attorney told him. He had nothing at home, so education or job skills, so what did he have to lose?

It's left open-ended. The viewer can fill in the rest. In my version, his party gets mauled by coyotes. Get it?! The animals, not the tour guides!
