US annexed entire Mexico to its territory in 1845 (not only Texas, which used to be part of Mexico). So why not annex Mexico now, after all it's already a failed state, and Mexicans travel in and out fairly easily anyway? I bet most Mexicans would have voted yes in a Referendum about annexation. Better yet, let's annex all the countries up to the Panama canal, which would serve as a natural border. I think my proposal would be supported by both Liberal who would want improve conditions of poor Mexicans, and Conservatives who would want expanding US territories & bring the law and order down South.
I am just tired of these games. If Mexicans are so poor & miserable, why wouldn't they want joining the richest country in the world as the 51st State? Let's make if official, so we can things in order there. I bet after joining us, Mexicans would prosper like Texas so they won't have a reason to immigrate. Do you see any Texans going out, in fact people go into Texas, despite it's rather arid, Mexican-like climate.
I am more than twice that age, but wasn't a 13-year child who declared that the Emperor has no clothes? So why should we pretend that Mexico has ability to exist a state when it can't protect its own officials in Tijuana or feed its people?
If all it took for a nation to lose its autonomy was poverty and other difficulties, we'd soon have one of those futuristic uni-nations that are found in those horrific scifi movies. This week Mexico, next week Greece.
"I'd never ask you to trust me. It's the cry of a guilty soul."
Well, Greeks have a lot to swim to reach US, Mexicans can pop-in whenever they like it. Since Mexico is already defacto the US burden", shouldn't we make it official?
This is truly groundbreaking thinking right here. I bet you're the first person on Earth to ever consider joining Mexico to the US, since of course the majority of the population in Mexico would agree to this anyway. I propose to sketch out a bill and send it to the Senate ASAP.
That was all sarcasm by the way.
I'm Mexican, and quite honestly, I'd be more interested in learning the support for your statements if your posts weren't so ridden with racism and ignorance. The mere fact that you really think that Mexicans would be all for US integration is preposterous. I'm willing to bet all my money and assets that if you went out to the streets in a Mexican city, not even 5% of the population would give you an affirmative answer to this nonsense, because no matter how *beep* up things might get around here, we fought too much to gain our sovereignty just to hand it over to a self-important ignorant stuck-up bunch just because they think that someone named them The World Police. Maybe if us Mexicans were more opportunists and invaders like you, we'd be the most powerful country in the world, instead of you. But we grew out of that whole "I'm coming into your house and tell you how to run things" ages ago. Soon enough the rest of the world will be saying goodbye to the New Roman Empire.
I think that in exchange for our neighbors running their country into the country and pocketing their wealth while their citizenry scramble for refuge here, we should just take the land from them, but still kick all the people out. Dump them somewhere in South America, maybe the rainforests or something, nobody's using them. Set up vacation resorts where their houses used to be. I dare anybody to argue with this logic.
