Question about the ending
So it ends with him getting ready to sneak back in? Why couldn't he just try to get back in legally?
shareGetting in legally is expensive and takes a long time, IF permission would even be granted. That's why so many people just sneak in. It's simply not feasible for most Mexicans to do it legally. And I can't imagine that a man who has been deported for being here illegally could ever get in legally after that.

After being deported you're banned to come back at least for 10 years. Besides, gardeners are not in short supply, so hard to get a work visa for that.
