The "My Trans Buddy" story at the end was a real cringeworthy nosedive

I thought this was alright but it went right off the cliff edge at the end when he added that bit in about his trans buddy.

Anyone with an IQ running firmly into the double digits should be comfortable with the fact the persona a comedian puts on to shock / cause laughter /mayhem isn't definitively going to correspond with their actual real beliefs.

Adding that story in as some kind of a disclaimer was pretty lowest common denominator stuff and only fit to be sucked up by the twitter / social media clowns whom he claims to have no interest in.

I was kind of hoping his punchline was going to be that he'd just made the entire thing up but sadly not...

Are you deaf? His point was he doesn't punch down or up and he wants trans people who can have a laugh, not the twittersphere that killed a father.

I'm I deaf? Can you read? Who knows but it doesn't appear that your read my post given this reply appears irrelevant with regards to my point...

It was only cringeworthy if you're desperate for something to complain about.

Hang on a minute, what - things can only be cringeworthy if you're desperate to complain about them? 🤔

Ok, I see...

That last part of the show almost made it bomb. Up till that it was pretty funny, but that just made it sink.

reply

Yes, exactly this!

Was much like his previous Netflix efforts, amusing enough but it just dragged and dragged as it slowly dawned upon you what he was (unnecessarily) doing at the end.

Just stick to the jokes and let the twitter mob froth at the mouth among themselves...

You're crazy, it's the best part of the show. Funny and deeply moving.
