Maybe you should wait to see the movie...

Maybe you should see the movie and then judge. I realize that some people do not like the trailer, but honestly, I've seen great trailers for movies that are pretty bad. On the other hand I have seen not so good trailers for some great movies. Why do not you just wait for a month that the movie actually comes out and then comment is it good or bad.

reply

...because the trailer isn't inspiring interest like its meant to. I just watched the trailer. It portrays a boring and lifeless movie, and Hayden Christensen is a log with arms.

Wait and see it?! Why would I want to bother?

reply

Then don't bother. After all it was just a suggestion.

reply

The movie was even worse than the trailer.

Cage's attempt at an English accent, Hayden's lack of expression...

reply

the movie was far from boring. so the previews were wrong.

reply

Ditto Joxy.

I saw this video labeled on a Chinese site as a sales trailer so I don't think it's the final trailer. Just one of a few promos that are out there. There are others that give more info about the movie's story.

Cage AND Christiansen? What were these people thinking? I guess people that make movies don't follow the trending of fans hate for certain actors

reply

Actually, Chinese likes Hayden and Nicolas, and guess what Star Wars too.

reply

Chinese don't count... they like everything that America hates... and they rip off everything America loves.

reply

Given that it's a movie about a Chinese Emperor and it was filmed in China, I reckon what the Chinese like certainly counts in this instance.

reply

chinese love Darth Vader . It reminds me of this screenshot from Star Wars's chinese pirated version , lol : http://mikekalar.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/do-not-want.jpg

I dig the Cage he makes really bad movies tolerable to watch. Hes not a bad actor in good movies he's a very good actor in very bad movies. He needs another Leaving Las Vegas or Adaptation before people totally forget he can act. I don't think this is it but as far as "ancient battle Cage flick" HAS to be better than Season of the Witch.

reply

I think Joe accomplished that but nobody saw it.

reply

I saw it. I agree with a lot said here. I will also say, that I was pleasantly surprised. Almost makes up for Ghost Rider.

reply

Just watched the trailer was Cage playing the part of a jolly pirate "Arr har me hearties", or was he just doing a bad English accent

reply

why it's just another Cage needs money now crap, skipozaurus

reply

Seen the movie, it is as *beep* as the trailers suggested, move along, nothing to see here.

reply

Sooooooo true!

What a waste of energy.

SAD!

reply

Sadly these days I just see Nicholas Cage on the credits and I know to avoid it.

Coming Soon! Nicholas Cage is Nicholas Cage!
Honestly the guy is the same in every damn film these days, I do not see the character only Nicholas. Has very little if any range.

imdb, once for discussing movies, now a facebook substitute. Off topic and all drama.

it was just horrible :(
I don't even know where to start. Suspension of any belief is a given of course because so much of it is unbelievable. But stiff acting. Poor character development. Poor plot development. Weak ending. Gage didnt need such abad accent. Christensen didnt use one! And how is it ALL the Chinese speak English in the 12th century?? The action scenes might've been ok had Hayden Christensen bested say 4 or 5 badguys then escaped, but to vanquish over 30 in one minute while groggy on opium without getting a scatch?!?!? B grade movie at best, and thats only if Im doped up on opium...

reply

It was okay. I'm not English but his accent didn't sound good. Otherwise his acting was pretty good, as was Christiansen's, and most of the rest of the cast.

I choose to believe what I was programmed to believe

reply

Sir...it was "ok"...a movie like this is not worse if not superior to the vast amounts of trash that the Stathams and the like have plonked out year on year out.

The two leads knew this was mediocre fair with dodgy accents...but still gamely played their parts with straight faces...class prevailed...barely.

Critics are subjective...regardless of their pretentions...decent sword choreography...a fresh take...even if Christensen's blade seemed somewhat slashy for a long/broadsword...which were primarily thrust...hack...and bludgeon weapons.
