The wedding
Jane's dress was atrocious. Anyone agree?
shareYeah, the colors/pattern were tacky, and maybe the low-cut could have been a tad higher. She would have looked better in a single dark color, dark blue maybe.
shareThere was a dress? My attention must have been somewhere else.
As a warrior and as a man, I will leave my mark upon the world! Marguilus
Certainly a different type of attire for a "best man".
Was it sweeps week or something?
Found an IMDB troll? Remember:
The best thing you can do is report + ignore them.
Not only was it atrocious; its simply not what the character would wear. There's been a couple of times in past episodes where Maura tries to get Jane to wear something 'sexy' and Jane balks at it. I don't have a problem with showing cleavage if its done 'right'. In this case I thought the dress and the cleavage were very much against character and out of place.
Agreed

You're right about the dress being out of character. Jane is very much a tomboy; at work, she's most comfortable in pant suits and boots, while at home she's perfectly fine wearing a Red Sox t-shirt and sweats. Maura is the one that's obsessed with her stiletto pumps and fashion, so it makes sense that Jane wouldn't feel comfortable wearing stiletto heels or a revealing outfit. While, as a man, I don't have a problem with cleavage, it definitely would have made much more sense for Jane to wear something much more sensible. Something that we, as viewers, could see as her compromise to wear something outside of her usual comfort zone without completely leaving it behind. The cleavage-heavy, leggy dress and stiletto heels definitely don't seem like Jane at all.
I have no enemies, but am intensely disliked by my friends.share
Totally agree.
Jane would've either gone for a nice pantsuit (she is "best man" after all...) or perhaps a sheath dress that showed off her toned arms but covered up her chest. For a tomboy, Jane would've been really uncomfortable and awkward in that thing that they decided to put her in. I vaguely remember her in a really nice, simple black dress from a previous episode that was more true to her character.
Maybe this is off-topic, but the series is cancelled at 13 episodes of season 7. The new clothing choices *might* have been used to try to avoid, or postpone, the cancellation?
That means the show's talent is in need of new gigs.
Sasha Alexander has appeared in the series SHAMELESS, and seems to be a character that will be around for a while.
Angie Harmon? I have not seen her in other things, but I may have missed them, so far. So, are/were the clothes something like an advertisement/audition for future work?
just sayin' ...
Angie Harmon was on Law and Order for 3 years! She played ADA Abbie Carmichael. In fact I really loved her character!
