The matrix on the window

Does anyone know what Isles was talking about when she showed the matrix on the window and said something about prime numbers??

It wasn't a matrix, as matrices go. And I can't figure out how it segued from what Angela was complaining about with understanding simple high school calculus.

But the numbers were drawn sequentially in an outward spiral. From that drawing, one can find diagonal groupings of prime numbers.

Maybe that was what Maura was trying to convey: the beauty of math to be appreciated rather than just math's utility that Angela felt was lacking or she wasn't grasping. I have been in the same boat as Angela, overlooking the beauty. I don't recall my teachers and professors ever approached calculus through aesthetics.
