Polygraph Test

Anyone else found that scene troublesome, in the episode with the father/stepdaughter as potential suspects?

Jane allows the test is inadmissible, challenges the suspect to take the test anyway, and the suspect's lawyer acquiesces. (Just as with OJ Simpson)

If the test proved inconclusive to the court, it should certainly prove so as an investigative tool. And the discussion of the results that followed in the episode exemplified the inconclusiveness.

A polygraph could be legally inadmissible but still - if done correctly - be useful as an investigative tool. However, polygraph exams as performed on TV are usually far removed from reality (to the point of absurdity in many cases).
