This is mostly funny, but the more I watched it I felt a little sad. It's about an old guy who is obsessed with mob characters who is detached from reality. You laugh at it long enough until it's more and more sad. Overall worth watching especially if you are a fan of mob movies and Little Italy.
shareI can't believe you liked this movie. My husband and I thought it was absolutely awful, one of the worst we've ever seen! We're both born and raised in Brooklyn. Hubby is very ethnic Italian. We love movies about the mob, especially if they take place in NY. We were very excited to see this - it sounds hysterical - but it wasn't!
We were both very disappointed and couldn't even watch until the end. The writers took an absolutely adorable idea and turned it into a mess. A boring mess. Even the great cast couldn't save this movie.

I can see that this movie will not be liked by most people. I got a kick out of it for maybe the first two thirds because my friends and I grew up on movies with exaggerated and lovable Italian characters, so this was like a smirking homage to that kind of thing (one of my favorite underrated movies is "29th Street" I have seen it probably 20 times). To be honest it was dragging, and I probably liked it because I wanted to like it so much. Not a great movie, I would not watch it again.

I hope it's not censored on Youtube, because it's got a lot of F-bombs but it's actually a great movie for the family and a Christmas favorite. Hope you enjoy it. (one of my top 3 movies that I've seen dozens of times)

It was a very good movie. Both of us enjoyed it very much. It leaves you with a really good feeling, which we weren't expecting. And it was funny!
