Spoiler: Roger Muldoon, the neighbor

I don't understand how Roger, the neighbor, finally figured out JP was the cause of the problems only after seeing the backyard with the burial marker. Why would that trigger any understanding?

I also wonder if Roger was able to have his name cleared after Grace uncovered evidence of JP being the one framing Roger.

JP had used the dog’s name as the name of the kid whom Roger was supposedly chatting with and abusing. Roger knew JP had a problem with him and was nasty. It wasn’t hard to put two and two together. I believe JP had also made insinuations.
