Dark and hilarious

I was pretty skeptical of this sister driven series, but I have to admit that everything I've seen that is touched by Sharon Horgan has been excellent.

The idea for the evil antagonist of this series to be a toxic husband, and yet about as ruthless and psychotic as Hannibal Lector is pulled off perfectly.

Oh, and it's probably not for you Right-wingers because you might think it is "woke".

I was expecting it to be over the top "woke" (as in trying hard to be so deliberately) and, happily, it was not. Just good entertainment.

Hoping for a second season. A dark and witty show that's got a bit of everything.

You know this show isn't popular when you don't see people here whining about how men are portrayed.

I'm conservative, but I don't see how this series is "woke". There is one mixed-race character, but in the context of the time and place the story is set, there's nothing unrealistic about that. One of the five sisters is gay, but that's not unusual--one of my three brothers is gay. The husband of one of the sisters is an abusive narcissist, but such people do exist in the real world. It's just an intriguing, entertaining show. I don't know why the OP thinks it's woke, but he does admit to having a problem with "sister driven" series.

You like it, so it isn't woke.
