Scene with the female anchor

In the scene toward the end of the movie where the female anchor came into his office with flowers to say goodbye before she got married, Steve said that he expected so much more from her. Was he insulting her or himself? She picked up the flowers and left so I assume he was insulting her. Was it an insult referring to the sex or the fact that she was getting married?

Knowing the Character of Steve, their sexual relationship. Just what I've picked up watching. Or maybe that she settled for that house on the island kind of girl.

i took it completely the opposite... he said "im gonna miss f'ing you. I wish there were more, but there just isn't" it seemed like he was expressing that he Wanted to care more, or be jealous of the husband... but just wasn't, because he just didn't truly care for her like that.
