Straight Comedy?
Is Weiner making a straight comedy or is the going to be more of a dramedy than the cast and description would indicate?

shareSaw it this morning. It's more of a dramedy. Though it starts as what seems like a straight up comedy, it becomes increasingly dramatic over the course of the film.
shareIs it worth seeing? I can't decide whether to watch it or not. I was really intrigued when I first heard about this project last year, but seeing the ratings now I'm less than enthused. I do like my dramadies though...
You heart me? What is that? Is that like I love you for pussies?
It's incredible how bad this movie is. The tone is all over the place. I don't understand what Weiner was trying to do.
shareI liked it, but it was a little all over the place and the ending was kind of unsatisfying.
shareIt's amazing to me how the comedy and tragedy of life are so offensive to people when mixed. I really loved the fact that everyone was struggling in this movie, because it was real. It wasn't a straight drama or a comedy. I think people wanted one or the other and that's where this disappointment stems from.
shareYou nailed it. That's exactly why I tell people I love dramedies. Becaude life is a dramedy.
shareWell said. I loved this movie.
shareI agree with you! I just don't "feel" the point or see the direction of this. It has been very difficult for me to keep watching...it's almost over and it is painful.
People are their principles.
"I just don't 'feel' the point or see the direction of this." The movie is about how people really are and how complicated life can be. It doesn't have just one point.
shareSee it. If you can get past your slapstick expectations you'll like it a lot.
shareI didn't know anything about it going in and it's definitely not the standard fare you might expect from something with Poehler, Wilson, Galafinakis. There are a few funny moments and overall it's fairly lighthearted, but there were significantly more dramatic elements compared to comedic ones in my eyes.
