Bigger budget and more polish...
Got round to watching this last night. I was wary of the mixed-to-negative reaction, but "Clueless" is one of my all time favourite films, and I've become a recent fan of Krysten Ritter so I had to give it a go, at least.
IMO, it was a good film let down by what I mention in the thread name. It needed a bigger budget (the visual FX were shocking - like, SyFy channel level bad) and a bit of 'polishing up.' I think Heckerling had a lot of good ideas here, and despite being a comedy I liked that she didn't shy away from showing some graphic/gory imagery. The cast worked well together and were all a lot of fun (Sigourney Weaver in particular - she looked fabulous!) and the script was pretty good.
Just my 2 cents.
