I hope they release a trailer soon atleast!
I don't even think they showed it at any festivals this year so far. What the hell is happening! I'm so excited for this.
The silence regarding this movie has become kind of worrying. Filming was completed so long ago and considering that it is suppossed to be released in 2012 there is absolutley no buzz surrounding it now at all.
At the very very least we should have seen a teaser trailer or the cast should be doing interviews about it to generate a buzz or something. Anything!
I really hope that I am wrong but usually when things go this deadly quiet it means that the studio thinks that they have a turkey on their hands. And then it just ends up on limited release or even straight to DVD.
I really hope that that is not the case though. I love Amy Heckerling and I love Alicia Silverstone. It would be awesome for them to have another hit movie together. Fingers crossed.
Vamps is an independent film and needs to find distribution first. This film got terrible reviews when it was screened in New York. It was also screened for distributors at last year's Toronto International film festival and nobody was interested. I think chances are high it will get dumped straight to dvd by a company like E1, Anchor Bay or Image.
shareWe have a winner.
Anchor Bay will be releasing it both on dvd and blu-ray. So, to add insult to injury, for those who really do want to see it (not me), you'll be sure to get a terrible looking transfer from AB too.
I saw Vamps on HBO this weekend. so I guess it went direct to video

But the 2nd mouse gets the cheese!

Here's a couple articles I found about the DVD releases.
"Available on Blu-ray November 13th, 2012. VAMPS will also be available in a limited theatrical release on November 2nd, 2012, so check your local listings."
