Best Ninja Turtles Movie Ever?
I think it's going to be!
shareI still go for 1990, but it's certainly the best since Secret of the Ooze, which is saying a lot.

I did enjoy it, but i was really disappointed that they made the original cartoon turtles look like idiots. I may be taking this to seriously, but it was a little disrespectful. But i really like the nod to the comic book turtles, very well done on that front. The comic book turtles narrator reminded me of WATCHMEN or SIN CITY.
shareNew Turtles Rule
Old Turtles Suck
That's what I saw. That seemed to be the whole point to this. It looked as if the new Turtles could have done all of that by themselves.
Yeah I didn't see much respect given to the old Turtles. I know some of the stuff looks corny and dated now, but it wasn't ALL like that, especially at the beginning of the series.
Clearly the writers of the movie loves their new turtles, and loved the comic book characters. They basically see the 80's Turtles as a farce.
To be fair... yeah the old Turtles show had it's own share flaws and problems (the new Turtles has it's own as well) but not on that type of level. To show them like that... that seemed to be pretty mien... in a cartoon type of way.
shareOh by no means am I saying that the 80's series was perfect. And in many ways, the new show is superior, while still staying true to the original characters.
But yeah, they definitely treated the entire 80's series like a giant parody or face, and like I said, it wasn't THAT bad.
It wasn't that bad but bad enough. I tried to watch it again and its pretty hard. They ribbed pretty hard but I think they did a good job with them and were able to laugh at themselves. The 2003 turtles got it a bit too from turtle prime.
shareThey got bashed and they were being laughed at. If it was the other way around and the 2003 show got bashed... man the outcry there would be.
shareMeh. . .I was a huge fan of the original cartoon, but I can admit: It was pretty damned silly. The silliness in T:F was pretty over the top, but I saw it as a funny homage. And really, Krang and Shredder WERE bumbling retards with retarded weapons and schemes, so at least THAT was spot-on.
shareYes! Definitely better than all those crappy live action movies. I liked every single moment of this animation! Nicely done!
shareCrappy live action movies, are you kidding me? I consider the first movie one of the greatest comic book movies ever, the second had its moments, but yes the third was crappy. This movie however put the CGI movie to shame. I'm just sad that this is most definately the last time we'll see any of these versions of the turtles ever again.

I watch the 1987 cartoon and I loved it as a kid,
I thought they did a good job of making fun of them, I laughed the whole way
you know what you are? you're a bastard-coated bastard with bastard filling.
Maybe for the time being, but once the new live-action origin film based on the comic comes out in 2012 I think it will blow everything in the turtles' past out of the water.Re-makes of old nostalgic comic/toon series have at least LOOKED good in recent years(even if the stories sucked on most--Transformers,X-Men,G.I.Joe,etc.),and if it's based off of the comic I think it will be awesomely dark, but fun too.
oops! i got a spillage out da side o' my drawers!
I've been a Ninja Turtle Fan since the very beginning...
I've seen it all, and this movie was amazing. I see it as a great homage to the many different manifestations of these iconic characters.
I cracked up at the references to the Old 87' show. I mean, come on!! We all love the 87 show, but it was way more silly than the other encarnations (with the exception of NEXT MUTATION, probably...).
The animation was great, the jokes were hilarious (specially Raphael's 4th wall and Donatello's use of technology), and the interdimensional story was a perfect way to put together these different worlds.
And yet, they are all the same... those amazing NINJA TURTLES!
Turtles Forever.

We shall see. If the right people who get the property are behind it. Like I said, we shall see....

The other Turtles movies aren't even in the same league. This one was funny, nostalgic, action-packed, well animated, clever, and surprisingly touching in the end.
