Honestly, this series so far has been a lot better than the Batman.. I have never been a fan of the Penguin as a character originally but this has been really good whereas the movie off which it was based couldn't have been more boring imo.. I hope that they don't mess this up by trying to put Batman in it down the line.
shareI the movie slightly more. Just because it has someone to root for. There is no one to really root for in The Penguin. They are all bad guys. Plus at times it would be nice to see Batman pop in and mess with stuff. Also, I just sit there thinking "Oh, wait until Batman returns (since it's said he's gone MIA after the events of the movie) and starts messing up everything you guys are doing in the events of The Penguin." Actually, I like both The Batman and The Penguin, but I have to go with the movie more. Just because the movie has someone to root for. I root for Batman more than the villains. The show is making Penguin an interesting character (I think I've accepted Riddler is my favorite Batman villain, and not because of The Batman either), but I kind of want The Batman 2 more. Also, The Batman is NOT boring. It's a really fast 3 hours. Plus it was The Batman that made me want to watch The Penguin. If I didn't like The Batman, I wouldn't be watching The Penguin.
shareYes I agree with you that there IS no one to root for in this. Os is a real POS. Sofia? People consider her the “hero” because she’s a clever woman who turned the tables on her family and foes. She’s only a drug dealer like any other lowlife, a psycho who killed an innocent teen for nothing, etc. My question is, from last weeks episode, was, was that always the plan? To kill her family, when she was released from Arkam or did she just think of it?
But Oswald is one fascinating character the way he’s written in this show. Too bad he’s such a scumbag.
That my problem with Mobster stories. There literally nobody to root for and the stories are very same-y. Its either somebody rise or somebody fall and sometimes both. Its like Slasher movies, you've seen one dude in a mask chop someone up. You pretty much seen every slasher movie ever made. The Mobster Genre is not that original. Personally i didn't like the Batman. Didn't think it was that good. But im not really excited to watch this. No matter how good the acting maybe. I don't think i would call it the Penguin. Because its not the character i read.
