There's no language, no drug use, no nudity or sexual content. Why is it rated R?!!!

Watched it today and there are a couple of F-bombs. But the amputation scene is what makes it deserve its R rating. I can handle the violence in films like Saving Private Ryan or even the Hostel movies, but I had to fast forward through Aron cutting his arm off. It was too much for me.

Absolutely. That amputation scene was very mentally painful to watch.
