Boy, those tiny earpiece cameras sure get good sound!

Theater-shaking Dolby Digital sound from a camera as small as your thumb! I want one!

At least the first one played mostly by the rules of its technology, despite sound editing and enhancing. This movie was inseparable from a movie filmed using a traditional perspective. These filmmakers (not just Wingard) want to make found footage movies, yet they aren't willing to bring realism to the proceedings, which would only enhance things, not be a detriment. They want all the coverage and technical advancement that a traditional film has, yet you can't have that if you're choosing to make a found footage movie where people are using consumer handheld devices (although it was actually filmed with regular-sized professional cameras).

Having some level of coverage and "sides" to conversations is silly but at least somewhat understandable (although this film did it far too much, with perfect framing and actors looking right into the camera when it was supposed to be several inches to the left or right). However, the fact that the sound for this film was so totally punched up takes you out of it. Muffled, lower quality sound would have been more appropriate.

Yeah, I can barely hear my husband on his Bluetooth most of the time.
