This witch is not the same witch from the first movie
whaaa? It looks like a groot witch.
shareAnd what did the witch look like in the first movie?
11... 92... 12...share
I imagined it a lot differently, they got it wrong with this film.
shareThey didn't get it wrong, it's just not what you wanted.
sharePossibly, but I still find it difficult to picture that version the witch in the first film.
shareWell technically, according to Mary Brown's description, who supposedly is one of the very few who had actually seen the witch from part 1...it's completely different. Although, we don't know for sure if she seen her or if she's just a crazy loon. I believe she was telling the truth.
shareMaybe the witch can alter her form?
shareYeah u could be right but I found she was very alien looking. I prefer the creepy old lady look or actually not seeing the witch at all.
shareShe had long hair and a wicked witch looking face...I've not seen many aliens that look like that.
She had long arms because of the way she died.
There are a lot of clear screenshot's taken of the witch and I also seen the film. Definitely more alien than witch looking in my opinion. Not saying it was terrible but could have been so much better.
shareHow is it more alien looking? lol Again, it had long hair n a witches face...How does that at all resemble an alien?
shareWell, it was white with long arms n long legs. You are only mentioning her long hair which I agree is witch like. So we're both right in a way...a witches head with an alien looking body lol.
shareI guess you're right but it's stupid lol.
I think the writers were confused about their own film.
Either make it look like a witch or make it look like an alien!
I really do hope that they weren't intentionally trying to make people think it was an alien.....I wanted to watch a film about the Blair Witch....Not about aliens.
Yeah, I still enjoyed the film(well the 2nd half anyway). Was really happy they spent more time in the cabin. But your right, it seems the writers were trying too hard to make it different. The thing that bugs me is they had 17 years to make this right so that's where I'm a little disappointed. Maybe my expectations were too high.
By the way, love your avatar...one of my favorite movies.
Looking at the stills posted in another thread, the Blair Witch looks like a Rob Zombie creation. Nothing like the original legend depicts her at all.
I ask you all this question - does a ghost need to look monstrous in order to be scary? People have been plenty frightened by alleged apparitions throughout history, and the vast majority of them have been reported as looking like ordinary people. Looking like a person is more psychologically resonant, in my opinion. The old woman in the bath in the Shining was deeply frightening, and not just due to her nudity, although I'll admit it played a part.
Not sure if u read my original post properly but i agree with u and that was my point. I very much would have liked to see a creepy more human-like witch.
shareThe witch would have looked a lot scarier had it of just been a haggard, old woman.
shareYeah, they got the face about right for the witch I think.
But that body is ridiculous n that's probably why some people interpreted it as an alien.
I think the film would have been a lot scarier if they just had a haggard old woman, floating towards the camera, rather than that spider thing lol.
this is why I wish they would release a blu ray with all the stuff cut out including the alternate endings, even the ones that didn't work. one of the endings they shot featured two horses' legs (hoofs) walk across the front of the camera. this goes back to the story mary brown tells them about seeing the witch covered in what looked like horse hair. so they obviously had some kind of look for her, even if it was just horses hoofs.
Another ending is similar to something seen in the new one. when Mike and heather are running through the house they suddenly see what appears to be bright lights come through the windows. they were described as looking like headlights shining through a boarded up window.
another that didn't work was heather finding Mike floating, instead of standing, in the corner. they couldn't get the harness that Mike was wearing to work properly.

They got it wrong because they didn't make it look how you imagined it looked? lol
You're an idiot.
I've not seen many aliens that look like that.

Well I feel like it's just redundant to not have the witch shown in any of the movies because that just makes them all rehashes of the original and doesn't add anything new to them. I feel like they did a good job showing just enough to make it still kind of mysterious and yes, I'm sure the witch can change her form because everyone who has seen her says she looks different.
share
haha what?? Are you an expert on what aliens look like?
Yes, that's exactly my point. Why bother putting the witch in when it would be obvious it will not match other peoples imaginations from the first film.
Seriously? So, the writers decided to give the creature a clear witches face with long witches hair.....Because it's an alien lol?? Think about it..
So, lets make a film called "Blair Witch" and have a creature in it that looks like a witch.....But the twist is....It's an alien.
Does that sound like a good idea to you?
Oh and I thought it was pretty obvious that I was referring to aliens in film...
exactly how I imagined it would look
i looks like a zombie from a video game.........
shareMaybe it was not the witch.
Maybe it was an emissary of the witch.
The writer said it wasn't the witch and there's a reason Ashley got sick. Maybe it was Ashley horribly disfigured.
That is an interesting thought... I like that take on it.
shareDid the original creators of the blair witch agree that the thing we saw in this movie was the Blair witch? Because if they didn't then it's NOT the Blair witch. Deal with it.
shareI always pictured the witch as being someone who looked exactly like Mary Brown, the one we got looks like a goddamn space alien.
shareI have never watched The Blair Witch Project until just recently and I decided to compile my super honest thoughts into a review.
I Finally Watched THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT!:
