So, at this point I'm sure we all know the general Blair Witch franchise theory about how the witch has the ability to manipulate time. Okay, here's my theory concerning the foot. Not precisely why she got so infected and *beep* up and why it was like…moving, but.

Anyway, at a certain point in the movie where Ashley wakes up and goes and talk to Lisa, starting her, we see Ashley walking back to the tent. Then Lisa looks down at her foot and it SEEMS that Ashley's walking just fine. Like as if her foot miraculously healed. Idk if you all caught that. The film INTENTIONALLY showed that though. My theory is that the reason why her foot healed and why Ash was able to run and climb trees like a monkey is due to the fact that the witch manipulated time many times throughout the film and in those moments where Ashley was walking back to her tent and when she was climbing the tree, we were at a point in time where Ashley's foot had not been injured yet.

Thoughts?

TBH, I don't think it's this deep. I think it's bad acting/directing on part of the filmmakers.

The story of the worm didn't make sense besides adding the only original material to the movie.

Every time she would fall, you heard a cracking sound. Was that the voodoo doll being manipulated? I didn't understand what the cracking noise was all about. They made it sound like her ankle was breaking.

It could be an accident, as other commenters suggest, but I do think this movie has a lot of things hidden for us to find. Maybe that's one of them.

Well, the girl had injured her foot walking across the stream bare footed (also the same stream the hand of the blair witch had supposedly come up from and grabbed and pulled down a little girl)....I assumed that Ashley's foot got scratched by the finger tips of the Blair witch while she walked across the stream and thus caused her foot to become infected. There is still much we don't know about the witch and what she is truly capable of.

Yeh I think you are giving the film-makers and actors too much credit here.....I don't think they give it anymore thought other than "ooh lets give her a foot infection and stick a creepy worm in there, that'll be weird"

Where the actress is walking normal, thats probably just her messing up her part

So, when she climbed the tree and then fell and died, that took place before she even cut her foot?

How about her spirit kept leaving her body, and that's why her foot was fine. Whenever she's not limping, it's because she's a ghost.

It's possible that Ashley's foot being cut(very badly) early in the film was a warning by the witch for the kids to turn back before it was too late.

you put more thought into than the film makers tbh (which is surprising considering its Adam Wingard who is usually on point).

the scene was pretty stupid. i didn't believe this charterer would attempt to get the drone especially in her condition. it did make for a fairly tense scene though but it was dumb. still enjoyed the movie overall though.

I could care less about her foot being cut, but what I do want to know is what the hell she pulled out of her leg when the cut went up. Is it extraterrestrial or something from the witch?

I believe i read some where that what she pulled out of her leg was a piece of bark or a tree root...something about the witch trying to turn her into one of those creatures that we later see chasing the one girl in the house.

Oh it is well worth the watch! it kinda sucks it is only a half hour long, but every moment is used, no fillers and AND.... we get to revisit the cabin from the movies!! I do know of a site that has all the episodes to watch, if you have a pop up blocker i can send you the link in a pm if you don't have access to a viewing site.
