SO MANY IDEAS AND WENT ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE

Seriously??!! What in the name of Jesus Christ did I just watch? I'm honestly so baffled by the sheer lack of lead ons with any of the content that we see in the film?

- The foot wound - explain???
- Everyone's death - explain? Where did they go?
- The flash of a woman? in the attic - was that Heather? Where was Heather? WHY DIDN'T WE SEE HEATHER??!! SUCH A WASTE OF TIME!!!

- the hillbilly couple - "we've been walking around for 5 days" - THAT was a creepy line, and could've been explored, but again IT WENT NOWHERE. Also Lane - what was going on? He went mad, yeah, but LETS EXPLORE MORE OF THAT.

There was honestly not one shocking or scary moment in this film. Everything was expected, everything was cheap, lame, jump scare crap.

SO. MUCH. POTENTIAL. And it canned it.

Shame on the filmmakers for being so fûcking retarded

They semi-jump scares were the worst of the worst. They have to be stupid to believe they can scare someone with just put a fully loud distortionated scream, and it's everytime like that.
And don't get me start with the cheap cut-failures of the footage...

To be honest, I kinda enjoyed not having the answers spoon fed to the audience like most horror movies do now. Essentially, you only know what the characters know, leaving the ambiguous stuff open to interpretation.

As for the Lane thing, when he said that it had been 5 days since they last saw each other, coupled with him growing a beard in a few hours between that encounter and seeing him in the basement seemed to suggest that he wasn't being hunted by the witch, instead helping her. Seems like the witch has some way of controlling time, making it stop for the main characters (those she is hunting) during the night. Lane and his girlfriend say it's been 5 days because to them, it has. He says it just to freak them out. Then he is allowed to leave, having done his job. Later, the witch needs him again, to lock the girl (can't remember her name) in the trapdoor.

When she escapes, the footage of her running up the stairs is obviously the same as the footage at the beginning of the movie. To me, that says that the witch has created a kind of loop, and Lane will be allowed to live, giving the tape to the main characters, repeating the storyline over again.

Or, of course, I could be completely wrong. Or half right. Either way, I didn't think the movie was bad, but wasn't great either. Decently entertaining way to spend a couple of hours
