I'm pretty sure that was bigfoot. The tree-man in the house wasn't as big or made the same sound.
Nah... I think it was a Predator. You can hear some clicking sounds along with the distorted growling during some pursuits in the forest (and when a body gets dragged super fast). The tree-man has to be Groot. Who else could it be?
Seriously, this movie leaves me the feeling that the franchise is turning into more of a sci-fi thing (the time loop doesn't help) rather than your classical ghost/horror story. I usually don't mind but I really liked the Blair Witch folklore from the first movie and some books. If they continue with their "sci-fi feel" to it, I might unhook very rapidly.
