If you like found footage horror but was disppointed with this...

Then I recommend Hell House LLC.
It restored my faith in the genre.
Personally, I think it's the creepiest FF film out there.

I love Found Footage Horror too. I like Hell House LLC, but it wasn't my favorite. Hell house LLC is in my top 10 FFM list though. I love the scene with the clowns in the basement moving while the strobe light going off. I will say this about FFMs. There is always that element of stupidity in each film. For example, if you are being chased by a killer why would you continue to film when you can run faster looking forward? Or if you actually filmed a ghost or haunting in your house, then watch the footage why would you continue to live there? Even with this Blair Witch movie. Why would James think his sister would still be alive in the forest from 1999? To make matters worse, James and his friends watched a horrific video, then decides to go to the remote forest, look for an abandon house to check it out? Like what's the worst that could happen?

reply

Of course most FF films tend to be riddled with flaws.
Hell House LLC is no exception.
For example, their reason for not leaving the house after all of that crazy sh!t went on wasn't ever explained.
And also when one of their friends went missing, nobody thought to check the footage?
These films require suspension of belief to be enjoyed really. Luckily I am normally able to do that.

I thought Blair Witch was a lot more flawed that Hell House though.
And although the ending of BW was fairly tense, I was on edge throughout most of HHLC.

I wish I had a list saved of all my favorite FF movies, because it would come in handy for threads like this... I'll rattle off a few of them that I can remember, though (these are some less-obvious choices because some of them are lesser-known, but holy crap, they're scarier than most big-budget horror movies):

Noroi (and anything else from this director)
Lake Mungo
As Above, So Below
The Taking of Deborah Logan
The Final Prayer
Resolution (not technically FF, but any fan of FF will love it)

reply

Resolution is amazing. One of my favourite movies of all time, not only FF.
Rec 1 & 2, Home Movie, The Banshee Chapter, The Possession of Michael King, The Houses October Built, The first two V/H/S, and Digging Up the Marrow were good too. I didn´t know about Hell House, I guess with such a generic name I missed it, but I will add the movie to my watchlist.

reply

If you liked The House October Built, I think you will really like Hell House....It's so much better!

Thanks for sharing these ones!

Afflicted
Home Movie
The Conspiracy
The Sacrament
VHS 1 and 2
The Fourth Kind
The Possession of Michael King
