If this wasn't called the Blair witch and obvious references to BLair witch I may have liked it more. Not that it was good it's just what I hated about this movie was just how ridiculously overboard it was. What was hit or miss with the original was people either found the nothingness scary or boring. I loved how the original you bearly saw anything and hardly any questions were answered and that just made it creepy. With this there's so much shown and all the questions are just ignored it now makes the original movie seem uttered crap if all of this is going on in the shadows

Yeah the original worked because it was clever in the way it hid its low budget. They had you constantly scanning every shot to look for a creature, rock pile, stick figure, etc. They not only worked around it but found ways to use it to their advantage. The whole thing worked because of what you didn't see, as you mentioned.

This is the exact opposite and had everything front/center, and right in your face. Of course it's not the worst thing ever, hell there's hundreds of worse found footage movies honestly. But the spirit of it was a complete 180 from the original.
