He is right. I know you believe the writers because you want to.....But think it through.
You can't just create a plot twist for a film but not even have it explained in the film.

It's too late for that Wingaurd! If you wanted your film to have a twist you should have put it in the film!
There are hints of a twist in the film. My honest guess is the studio thought it might be too convoluted, wanted a 90 minute flick and edited many things out.
shareIt's too late even if the writers and director are telling the truth. What's shown is what becomes canon in the story of the movie. The studio was absolutely right if they thought some witch-a-roo was too convoluted. It was.

Assuming there even was any editing. It could very well be the writing is that bad.
if that was true then they would be announcing an extended cut or have deleted scenes.
