To those that say it's daylight. Daylight is yellow. The light in the cabin was blue (white). It was clearly from a manufactured light.
shareGot the feeling it was to tease the survivors with the hope of daylight, so manufactured by the Witch.
shareIt was the lightning striking the tree outside in reverse, because of the stupid time loop.
sharethe directors in the commentary never reveal what that is. they just decided to leave it unexplained. but it is something that was originally intended to happen in the original film...only in the basement. but budget reasons stopped that from happening.
