Lisa's leg

Lisa leg. her foot had the cut then later she pulls out a large long insect, is that what peter saw when he was looking at her foot in the tent, and she pulled it out after running in the forest?

reply

Was it an insect? I honestly thought it was a small tree branch it was so hard to see.

reply

at the beginning I though it was a centipede as well, but it was like a branch

reply

no i just watched it, she definitely pulled out a millipede - and it was Ashley, not Lisa lol

reply

I don't think it's an animal, looks more like a twig, which sort of relates it to the stick figures, as if the woods somehow infected her. Still shot:

It's a root. The theory is that she was becoming one of the stick figures. Notice every time she screamed in pain from her foot, there was also a cloud "snap" like a tree branch breaking. If she hadn't died from falling off the tree trying to get the drone, she would have turned into a stick figure eventually.

reply

Hmm, that's an interesting theory; I like it.

reply

maybe all the children that have gone missing in the past are represented as a stickman figure? i am not being a wiseguy, it just came to me.

reply

damn///... legit theory u got there.

reply

I vaguely remember the writers mentioning something like that in the commentary for the first one.

She is groot.

.

reply

I think they originally intended her to become a type of Groot, but they must have run out of time or budget because they just gave her that lame drone-related death.

reply

It's possible. The writer or director said she got sick for a reason. She's dragged off when she falls--she might not be dead.

Other than Talia, who we clearly see dead as a doornail, she's the only one we don't see in the house. Peter is there standing facing the wall when James enters.

I believe she is the groot.

reply

That "witch" in the house did look very stick-like.

The commentary track reveals it's a root that she pulled out her leg. this is suggesting she is becoming some kind of tree creature. It's possibly hinted that the tree creature chasing the people in the movie is Eileen Treacle who the witch supposedly drowned in the river a long time ago. witnesses claimed to have seen "a hand" pull Eileen into the water. the girl was grabbed by a hand in the trees, then dragged away.

in the making of feature, the root is said to have moving tendrils suggesting it was turning her into some kind of tree creature.

So now the director of the BW is now ripping off "The Ruins". SMDH
