Underground passage scene.

Was that intense or what? I found it hard breathing myself. That entire thing looked so fragile, I wonder if they recreated it in a Studio or it was an actual underground hole. Either way, kudos to the actress for playing it so well. She did seem really claustrophobic and as if she was loosing herself there. By far the scariest part in the movie, imho. Her entire run from the moment she met with Lane or whatever the name of that guy was and got locked into that container, was rather terrifying and well played. Other than that... quite boring movie, I must say.

I don't think the insurance company would sign of on having an actor go down a real whole. Most likely some old air duct they covered in dust.

But it was a good scene.

reply

I agree it was the only decent part of the movie and I felt myself getting claustrophobic... The Desent movie also gets me like it but that is a GREAT movie !!

reply

Yes I was also going to suggest The Descent to the original poster! The claustrophobic aspect is way more effective in The Descent as I was just feeling sorry for the girl in Blair Witch.

reply

I was also going to bring up The Descent! I didn't like this movie but that scene was very well done. Now I'm curious about how it was done. Maybe there's a making of doc in the DVD?

reply

there is a making of doc. I'm watching it right now but so far they haven't mentioned it. it was mentioned by the directors on the commentary. it was an actual tunnel built on a set. it was made big enough for the actress to barely squeeze through. they don't mention what it was made up but they say it was about the length of 25 feet. The actress actually crawled through that tunnel. But she wasn't alone. Her stunt double was crawling behind her and was even grabbing her feet to prevent her from moving. there was also a cameraman in front of her. they had to use two cameraman because the first one ended up getting a panic attack and had to be dragged out of the tunnel.

reply

Yes! The Descent did the same thing in one part. Very claustrophobic movie!

American Horror Story Season 7: Donald Trump

There was another found footage horror film from 2013 called 'The Borderlands', towards the end of that there is a very similar scene involving characters crawling down a tunnel under a church, and it's even more claustrophobic.

reply

A much better film, too.

"As Above, So Below" has a similar scene, only a lot worse actually...

reply

Yeah, these scenes make me extremely claustrophobic.

To the person that mentioned As Above, So Below: It felt like it was that way the entire time.

reply

Has anyone seen "Buried" with Ryan Reynolds? I had to go outside in the open air after that one

reply

I caught myself not breathing many times during the end. Loved it.

reply

I had to fast-forward through it - *and* only semi-watch it, peeking through my fingers. But yeah, The Descent was "worse!"

reply

Yeah it was pretty intense. I was expecting the witch or some other creature to come behind her or in front of her and grab her.

Utah! Get me two.
