After a few minutes, I kept getting this "Audio muted..." message from Cinavia, and had to turn it off because the message kept coming back every few seconds. I may just stop renting from RedBox.

shareSince the release of BluRay, players have require updates. Some players have ethernet ports on the back, some have wifi, some have both. Also, did you check for fingerprints. People that rent discs LOVE to touch the damn disc for some reason...
shareIt's a bootleg disk. A software or flawed disc would make the whole thing unplayable, not just random audio cutouts where the video plays fine.
