Why?

This was trying to play both the sequel and remake cards simultaneously and in doing so failed on both counts. This massive identity crisis ultimately weakened the finished product. The Heather narrative could have been completely eliminated as any pertinent witch lore was regurgitated by the burkitsville native characters. The impetus behind the characters' motivation to create another documentary was weak and at best contrived in an effort to assuage the inevitable remake backlash, yet the unfolding of the unfortunate fate of the characters was virtually identical to that of the original. This film was neutered by an effort to keep its feet in both ponds.

The lore was shat upon.

The witch doesn't look like a tall gangly creature. Rustin Parr wasn't dragged out of his house and killed by rabid townspeople.

This was another crappy reboot masquerading as a sequel.
