This was only huge because it has Christopher Nolan's name on it. It the same film had Ron Howard's name instead, if would have bombed.
Fanboys fell in love with Nolan after The Dark Knight, and after that anything he puts out is gold for them.
Most Nolan fans are also superhero fans that would never see a drama to save their lives. And suddenly they love a boring three hour drama?? Come on!

shareJust watched it. It was a bore fest. I had no thoughts on Christopher Nolan one way or another - I never even saw Dark Knight. I just thought it was a not such a great movie about not such a great man. Funny how the one woman in the film he did not have sex with was so minor I forgot her name.
