i will keep an eye on this series
dec 2.
shareFirst two episodes are pretty decent, quite good crime / drama.
Loosely based on "the highway of tears" in Canada where it is believed multiple serial killers operate.
thanks
shareThe highway of tears is in British Columbia on the other side of the country whereas this is situated in Quebec.
shareoh my bad I am from France, but the backbone story is so similar they probably inspired Three Pines from the few documentaries on Highway of Tears
shareAboriginal abuse happened all across the country and it is a story that needs to be told. I think this is focusing more on residential school abuse from the last 100 years up until a couple of decades ago. The story is being told with sympathy for the survivors of the abuse. I'm not sure how balanced it is but you do seem to get one side.
The H.O.T. is an ongoing thing that has happened in our lifetimes and could still be happening today.
first two mysteries were good. not sure how many murders they can drum up in a village of 100 people.
shareThere are 20-odd books, but not all the murders happen in this tiny idyllic town... only about half. Which begs the question of why the town is still considered idyllic, after the 3rd or 4th murder in a couple of years.
Anywsy, I've read the majority of the nooks, and all I will say is that Molina is good casting. Wonderful actor, right age and look, although I don't know how good his French is...
